Elisabeth's Birthday / Part 1

This year we got to celebrate Elisabeth's birthday twice. Ok, the first one was because she wanted to come see us and i'll be honest, we didn't realize it was her birthday. Poor sister, we all know her birthday is April 2, however it never fails that every year, I never realize that it's the day of her birthday until it's too late. So this year she said she wanted to come see us for her birthday. So after I realized I hadn't called her for her birthday I ran to Smith's and got a cake, and a plant for her so when she got here, we had cake and sang happy birthday. So this was part 1.

4-5 Days Old

I finally got some pictures with him opening his eyes. Here are a few cute ones.

1st Bath

His first bath that I gave him was when he was 4 days old. He definatly didn't like it. He screamed and cried. This was the only sponge bath I had to give him because his ambilical cord fell off when he was 5 days old so then I was able to give him his baths in the sink. He is still so small that even the sink seems too big for him.

Going Home

My neighbor had dinner waiting for us when we got home and along with that, she had made this cute cake. Thanks Cyndi!!

Our Time At The Hospital

I know I'm late on doing these posts, but I forgot how much 2 kids consumes my time. Here are our pictures from the hospital. The time at the hospital was nice and relaxing and THANK YOU MAREN for taking Starlett while we were in the hospital. I love you even more for that.:)

My water broke at 11:00, we were at the hospital y midnight with my contractions about 2 minutes apart.I got my epidural 20 minutes after I got to the hospital. Right before my epidural, I was at a 4. Right after the epidural, I was at an 8, 5 minutes later, I was fully dialated and ready to deliver. My doctor was taking his time, thinking that he had at least an hour, until they called and told him I was at an 8. Luckily with an epidural, you can kind of hold of the labor, but as soon as he got there and got ready he told me to push, I pushed 3 times and the 4 he told me to stop cuz the baby was already out. By far the best labor and delivery I've ever had. The Doctor also toldme that was the best and easiest delivery he ever did.

Ahhhh, After the drugs. SO much better!!

It was the middle of the night so we had to bring Star with us. She was such an angel. She got a popsicle, coloring books, milk from the nurses and she just entertained herself. During the actual labor she just watched and didn't say anything. She didn't act scared or anything. She was perfect.

All the pain ( for the whole 2 1/2 hours) was so worth it. Look how adorable he is.

They had doors that you could write on, so I, Rain, Daylon, and Star all wrote Rocky a message. You can't really read it but I wanted to put it on here anyway so I can remember it.

This was our nurse the majority of the time. She was AWESOME!!!

Baby Tag! 1. WAS YOUR PREGNANCY PLANNED?

No, I was told after my cervix surgery that I probably wouldn't be able to have anymore kids and we were ok with that.

2. WERE YOU MARRIED AT THE TIME? Yes but not to the father, JUST KIDDING. We had been married for Almost 3 years

3. WHAT WERE YOUR REACTIONS?

Suprised but actually VERY happy. I wanted it to be a boy.

4. WAS AN ABORTION AN OPTION FOR YOU?

NEVER!!!

5. HOW OLD WERE YOU?

6. HOW DID YOU FIND OUT?

I missed my period so I took 5 tests and they all came back positive.

7. WHO DID YOU TELL FIRST?

Of course my husband cuz he was there with me, but then I think I told Maren next.

8. DID YOU WANT TO FIND OUT THE SEX?

Definatly Yes

9. DUE DATE?

April 9, 2009

10. DID YOU HAVE MORNING SICKNESS?

Not really

11. WHAT DID YOU CRAVE?

Depended on the day. I craved fresh fruit, chocolate, steak...Just about everything

12. WHAT IRRITATED YOU?

I would get gas pains so bad if felt like I was having contractions.

13. WHAT WAS THE SEX?

Our handsome boy

14. DID YOU WISH IT WERE THE OPPOSITE?

No, we were both hoping for a boy to finish off our family.

15. HOW MUCH WEIGHT DID YOU GAIN?

15 Pounds, I got in trouble for not gaining more in my 7th and 8th month.

16. DID YOU HAVE A BABY SHOWER?

My wonderful sister Maren gave me, Tiana, Meghan, and Olga a combined Shower at Thanksgiving.

17. DID YOU HAVE ANY COMPLICATIONS DURING YOUR PREGNANCY?

Not until I was down to 7 weeks left, I hadn't gained any weight and the dr was worried so I had to go get another ultrasound and a stress test which caused me to start having contractions so I was put on bed rest til they stopped.

18. WHERE DID YOU GIVE BIRTH?

LDS Hospital, it was wonderful

19. HOW MANY HOURS WERE YOU IN LABOR?

A whole 2 1/2 hours. Best Labor and Delivery of all my children.

20. WHO DROVE YOU TO THE HOSPITAL?

Darin

21. WHO WAS IN THE ROOM WHEN YOU GAVE BIRTH?

BESIDES THE DR AND NURSES, Darin and Maren BARELY made it.

22. WAS IT NATURAL OR A C-SECTION?

NATURAL WITH EPIDURAL

23. DID YOU TAKE MEDICATION TO EASE THE PAIN?

I got my epidural 20 minutes after I arrived at the hospital, and barely had enough time to get it before I was fully dilated.
