Speaking of Hair Cuts!!!

Star had her first real haircut at the Salon, or should I say Smart Clips inside Walmart. She loved getting her hair washed in the big sink, but was pretty much done after that. We couldn't get her to hold still for anything, but it actually turned out really cute. (Do I even need to mention that I cut her hair so it was all one length instead of a mullet, and I couldn't get it even so to avoid her being bald, I just took her in....So glad I did)

Teresa the Hair Butcher Strikes Again

No matter how many haircuts I screw up, even multiple times to the same person, they never learn. I guess maybe they think that since some time has passed since the last screw up, that maybe I've learned how to actually cut hair, or maybe they just forget just how bad I am at cutting hair, or in David's case, is too desperate to care. In any case, Teresa the Hair Butcher has Sliced Again (that's a pretty good name huh). Muahahaha!!! I'm hoping one day it'll teach them to never ask again, cuz honestly, one of the main reasons why I QUIT Cosmetology School was because I wanted people to sing Beauty School Dropout about me, no really the main reason why I quit was because I hate cutting hair.....oh and the small detail that I suck at it. So let this be a lesson to all those out there, or to those who read my blog at least, DON'T ASK ME or you will end up bald.

Before (looked bad before so I couldn't do any worse :)
After ( I actually like the buzzed look on him and I think it looks better then the before picture, but the fact of the matter is that he was just wanting "SOME" cut off, not all but a quarter of an inch. I know you still love me though.David, if you ever feel like your alone in this situation, Don't. Hyrum knows how it feels, but be glad you are boys and it doesn't look horrible to be shaved. I still remember my worst hair cutting experience ever (shortly after I dropped out of school) and it was Aunt Tammy. She already had short hair but just needed a tiny bit off the ends.....Needless to say, I could have just shaved her and no one would have been able to tell a difference. In fact Gramps came in just after we finished and said "Well it looks as though I finally got the boy I always wanted". So sorry Aunt Tammy, for the butcher job and for telling everyone. You learned your lesson huh?

Easter Morning at Home

Star's Basket, the nice Easter Bunny just left it out for her so she didn't have to go searching, the older kids were bummed though, they wanted to search for it.
Don't even ask about Star's and Rain's clothes. Apparently they wanted to play dress up more then they wanted there baskets, either that or Rain wanted to make sure she looked good for pictures.
Rain's Basket, and honestly, I'm having a big brain fart cuz I can't remember where the Easter Bunny hid hers. Tiana, see what she got?? HSM 3.
Daylon's Basket, his was hidden in the laundry room between the washer and the wall. The older they get, the harder it must be for the Easter Bunny to find good hiding spots.
As you can see, Daylon was the most excited about the candy. He is a boy after my own heart. We both have the worst sweet teeth ever...and you wonder why we have so many cavities. It looks like the Easter Bunny did color coordinated baskets. I bet he thought that would be fun. Stars was orange, Rain was yellow and Daylon's was blue. There were many different colors to choose from but note, if you shop too late then the good stuff is all gone. Ok, now I'm finally done with my Easter Postings, I can get onto other one's now....like how big my baby boy is getting.

Indoor Easter Egg Hunt

Since all of our plans failed with the other Easter Egg Hunts, we decided to just do one of our own. It was too cold outside and Maren's house was a wreck with boxes so we decided to just have it in her house. The kids were happy with that and that was all that mattered.

The other kids may have been more interested in the candy, but all Jaiden cared about was the eggs. Babies are so easy to entertain, especially Jaiden. He's such a good baby.
Not enough for you greedy Rain?? :)
The babies doing what they do best, sleeping, but we wanted to include them anyway. Rocky was used as a hiding spot and we just borrowed someones basket to take a picture of Marlee.
Maren had to have her candy too, Jaiden went without obviously :)
Daylon wasn't satisfied with one hunt so David did an extra hard hunt in the back bedroom. He's such a good uncle.
Thanks for collecting the eggs Rain, the kids only want the candy inside anyway.
This was the 4th activity that day, one more at home and I'll finally have all my Easter Blogs Posted....Now that May is nearly over. Oh well, better late then never.

Pictures with the Bunny

We had to run to Walmart to pick up one or two bags of candy, and while me, Rain, and Alexandra where heading towards the candy isle, we noticed that the Easter Bunny was there taking pictures so we couldn't pass up the opportunity for cute memories....and I really wanted the Reeses Peanut Butter Eggs they were passing out so I made sure I got my turn too. They were actually giving free 5x7's that you could pick up the next day, but I wasn't going to be in Orem the next day and I kind of forgot but I made sure to take some with my camera, not that great, but they'll work for me. Me and all 4 of my kids stayed at Maren's house the Friday night before Easter because there were alot of fun things going on Saturday morning that I thought it would be fun to take the kids to, so at 8:00 am (I know, it's a miracle I was able to get up that early) we were up and needed to be at Mt. View High School by about 8:50 cuz they had a candy dash in the football field. Well I dropped off Daylon, Alexandra, and Rain to get in line and I went and parked the car. They started letting people in the field and the line was right next to where I parked the car, so I just waited there til they came past me. Well after the line was gone and I couldn't find them, I rushed into the field to make sure they made it in. The dash was over after 5 minutes and the kids were no where to be seen. So I headed back out to the parking lot hoping to find the kids with candy in there baskets. I finally found them all with sad faces and empty baskets. I asked Daylon what happened and he said "I thought you told us to wait there for you to come back after you parked the car". I felt so bad. I guess I shouldn't have put them in that place to stay there while I went and parked. So they stayed clear at the end of where the line was and didn't move forward with it. This is the only picture I got of that lovely incident. Not to mention, it was raining the whole time.

So after that little problem and trying to calm my son's tears, I promised them McDonalds breakfast and there was another egg hunt in Cedar Hills at 11:00am which gave us 2 hrs. We got breakfast, ran around town trying to get a key to my sister's house so I could get some different shoes for Rain, stopped by Marens quick and then headed to the next egg hunt. As I was driving there, I looked at the clock and realized it was 10:58 and and I was still at least 10 mintutes away. And for any of you who have been to these events, they are over in 2 minutes max. So needless to say, when we got there 10 minutes late, everything was done and over with and all we got from it, was some cute pictures with the bunny and by the stream.
Since we were close to the cemetary, and I had bought a stone step to put on my dad's grave ages ago, we decided to stop and see my dad's grave with David and Meghan.
This one's all smiles.
This is them crying over how much they miss grandpa....or pretending anyway. Kids and there imaginations are great!!
So this concludes three more of our Easter Activities. I was a stressful, annoyed, impatient, late, bouncing off wall Mom, that doesn't make for any fun at all!! Poor kids that had to deal with me :(

Dying Easter Eggs at Marens

I have to start with this picture because we were shopping for eggs for this post so I decided that this darling picture of my adorable daughter belongs here, besides I didn't know where else to post it but she is so cute I had to post it somewhere. She wasn't very happy when I made her take it off and leave it at the store.... she was screaming uh hatch mom. I have a hard time saying no to this little twirp, as you all know.
Now the dying eggs starts. We did it at Marens house, her house is the only house big enough for us all to gather, plus that way the mess stays there. (although that didn't make a difference cuz I ended up cleaning up after all) HAHA, you know I love you sis. We had lots of family there and lots of fun. Star was being very feisty and wouldn't take a picture with her egg so I had to help, I can't remember who made the egg (sorry whoever it was) but they wrote twinkle twinkle little star on it. It was darling.

Braxton Keoni

Rain-the Poser (I wonder where she gets that from. Ah-hem???) Alexander Grand Bell A.K.A Alexandra Hanks Daylon-My Stud Man (really he's my baby, but he doesn't like me to tell everyone) David-The Dweeb Maren-The Mega Butt Shot
Elisabeth and Alexandra-Awww so precious
This is what John called was his GQ pose. Ewwww your so hot John.Sisters In Laws- Maren & Meghan ( we love having Meghan in our family)
Meghan, save that for the bedroom
Nana and Hapa sitting on the sidelines, doing what they do best. Watching and enjoying, but not wanting to get down and dirty, come on ma, where's your Easter spirit? Oh ya, I'm sure you had enough of dying eggs with all 7 children you had, ok, you have the right to rest and watch us be the mothers now.
David, can you ever take a decent picture, he's sitting with Marlee inside cuz it's too cold out for the babies.Rocky was also enjoying the indoors snuggled up to Nana's chest. Everybody loves that, but I love it the most.....awwww so comforting. :) I'm a nerd, I know.
We all enjoyed Gourmet Pizza from Little Cesears. Can't top that, at least the price.
I warned mom that every time she made a dorky face, that I'd post it on my blog and I wasn't lying.
And the best part of all of it.... THE DREADFUL CLEANUP. Acutally me and David were the one's that cleaned it up at 10:00 pm. We got a little carried away and instead of dumping the dye in the grass we decided to splash it against Maren's concrete divider thingy that stands about 4 feet high from the ground as you can see in the background in the picture below. We made a beautiful mural of reds, greens, blues, yellows, and oranges. It was a priceless work of art....until John woke up the next morning and saw it.... We deny it all. We have no Idea what happened. Too bad I didn't think to take a picture of it. Really, it was hardly even noticeable and the dye was way light but I like to dramatize my stories so there more interesting. And for the record, I don't think it's even there still and I don't think John was mad, at least he said he wasn't.
UGH!!!!
This was the greatest, I wish I had my video camera for this. Daylon, who is nearly as tall as I am, decided to start messing around and teasing and bugging his Aunt Maren, so she decided to join in and get him good. She picked him up like he only weighed a pound (thanks to Jaiden for strengthening her arm muscles from being carried aruond all the time) and went on like that for a bit. I just think it's so fun and enjoyable to watch when my kids aunts and uncles really get down and dirty and play with my children. I love it. And my children love them.

So this was the first of many Easter Activities we did this year, so I'll try to get the rest posted today as well, but we all know how that'll go.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

P.S. I just have to apologize now, cuz there are some people who are annoyed by this (you know who you are uh hum...MOM), I'm sorry that I didn't pay attention in English to know how to decifer when to use there and their so I pretty much just always use there for both, mom explained it to me once but my brain doesn't take and store information very well, so I'm sorry for those of you, more then just my mom, who can't stand my bad grammer. Hopefully, you'll forgive me and continue to read my blog.....at least I'm not as bad as Maren.....yet. j/k Maren :)
